=== WAFES Conference 2019 ===
Registration is currently open for delegates to the 2019 WAFES Conference. Two delegates from each BGU (Brigade) are invited to nominate to attend the conference, and must be endorsed by the BGU Leader (Captain). Registrations close Monday the 26th of August.

If you are interested in attending the WAFES Conference on behalf of our Brigade, please contact [[Captain@SawyersValley.bfb.asn.au|Adrian]].

The conference will run from Friday the 6th of September to Sunday the 8th of September.

==== Mundaring Fire School ====

The latest Mundaring Fire School calendar is [[http://wiki.sawyersvalley.bfb.asn.au/_media/newsletters:mfs_course_nominations_2019_-_0801.pdf|attached]].

Of particular note is the Initial Control at Wildfires (ICAW) course, being run on the 23rd of November. This is an excellent course which teaches crews how best to respond as the arriving appliance to an escalating incident. It is strongly recommended that all Crew Leaders attend this training, as well as other members who are likely to face this scenario in the coming fire season. DFES would also like members to be aware of the Provide First Aid training being run at the Forrestfield Academy on the 7th of September. Application for this training can be made through eAcadamey.

==== Raffle Tickets For Sale ====
This year the Brigade is participating in the Bendigo Bank Community Groups Fundraising Raffle. Tickets are $5, with a change to win one of five $1,000 cash prizes, or the $20,000 grand prize.

The Brigade will keep the profits from the sale of raffle tickets. If you are interest in selling a book of tickets contact [[Treasurer@SawyersValley.bfb.asn.au|Jen]], and if you're interested in buying a ticket contact me!
