Dates for the new operational driving training course (PUAVEH001B - Drive Vehicles Under Operational Conditions) have been released:
This course provides training in driving vehicles under Emergency Road conditions (ie lights and sirens).
Nominations for a training course must be with the Shire at least one week prior to the course, although more notice will help guarantee your spot. Please talk to Adrian or Rob if you are interested in attending one of these courses.
Rapid Alert is the system used by DFES for turning out volunteer crews. It has recently been upgraded, with several new numbers added to the system. Call-out SMSs may now originate from one of 10 different numbers:
It is recommended that these numbers be added to your phone's addressbook as a single contact (ie “Fire” or “Rapid Alert”) which is set to Emergency Bypass. By doing so, messages from these numbers will always play an audible tone, regardless of whether the phone is set to silent.
Attached is an Operational Circular describing the changes, and a contact card which can be added to your phone's address book.
No updates.
