This was installed between the left-hand pannier and the hose-reel. It has subsequently been found that the breather tube on the new tank is not tall enough, which results in fuel spilling through the filter if the tank is full and the vehicle driven over rough terrain. The temporary solution to this is to not fill the pump tank above 3/4 full. === Red Cross Perth Hills Preparedness Project === The Australian Red Cross are undertaking a project aimed at improving the preparedness for emergencies of the Perth Hills communities, with a focus on Psychosocial preparedness (ie good stress management and techniques to help remain calm). They have a tool called RediPlan (pdf attached) which complements existing emergency preparation planning tools, such as DFES's Firechat. As part of the project the Red Cross are conducting a sruvey to develop a baseline for community awareness. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey, as well as share this information with your friends and family. A summary of the PHP Project is attached. ==== Circulars and SOPs ==== No updates. ==== Mundaring Fire School ==== No updates. ===== Administration ===== ==== School Visits ==== A number of visits to local schools have been organised over the next couple of months. Both Sawyers Valley Primary School and Mundaring Primary School will be involved, with visits including a presentation on bush fire safety at at school assembly, and an information evening for parents. The latter will be an opportunity for schools to present and discuss their Bush Fire Action Plan with parents, as well as allow parents to have their own plans reviewed by Brigade members. The visit dates are: * 26th October - Mundaring Primary School Parent Information Night (18:30) * 30th October - Sawyers Valley Primary School Assembly (09:00) * 6th November - Mundaring Primary School Assembly (09:00) * 9th November - Sawyers Valley Primary School Parent Information Night (18:00) Not only is this be beneficial to raising awareness of bush fire safety in the local community, but it presents an excellent opportunity for our Brigade to undertake some "soft" recruiting. Anyone interested in participating in any of these events should contact Adrian. ==== Clothing Orders ==== The deadline for orders has been extended until Saturday the 24th of October.
