Undertook asset protection, saving a number of structures. Attended by: Adrian, Dave Wh., Elton, Keith, Sarah, and Tracey. === Sunday 3rd January, Re-ignition, Malmalling === Called to assist with re-ignition of the previous Malmalling incident. Completed blacking out of fire-ground ahead of bad weather conditions in the coming week. Attended by: Adrian, Dave Wh., Elton, Graeme (Whim Cl 7.2), Keith, Sarah, and Tracey. === Tuesday 5th January, Red Gully === Received urgent request for assistance at Red Gully incident. Light Tanker deployed fire call and completed a 12 hour shift, with a relief crew transported by SES bus. Attended by: Adrian, Dave Wh., Keith, and Sarah. === Tuesday 5th January, Beechina === Turned out to scrub fire started by car fire along Great Eastern Highway near Beechina. 1.4 completed two shifts across the afternoon and evening, with a third shift attending Wednesday night. Attended by: Adrian, Ben, Dave R., Dave S., Michelle, Rob, Tracey (x2), and Warren. Special thanks to Elton for organising and coordinating relief crews for the Red Gully and Beechina incidents. ==== Announcements ==== ===== Fire Weather 7th - 9th January ===== Sever fire weather persists for the remainder of the week, with hot and windy conditions. The temperature is predicted to peak at 42 °C on Friday, before dropping to 30 °C on Sunday. A storm is possible for Saturday. Please continue to maintain your availability status in BART, and mark every effort to be available to turn out. A number of appliances remain offline within the Shire, with Chidlow 4.4 and Stoneville 1.4 unavailable for the foreseeable future. Special care must be taken when driving out appliances to avoid damage and a further reduction in resources within the Shire.
