From the 1st of December we enter into the Prohibited Burning Period. From now until the end of March all burning, including garden refuse, is prohibited. This marks the start of the Fire Season, and demands a heightened state of readiness for the Brigade.

To ensure the Brigade maintains its operational capability throughout the holiday period, without overly burdening individual members, a roster shall be drawn up for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. If you will be unavailable for any of these days, please let Adrian or Elton know so this can be factored into the roster. Where possible individual members shall be on roster for only one of these four days.

It is also a good time to remind members that alcohol should be avoided when on roster. Whilst volunteers are allowed up to 0.05% BAL, it is requested that members abstain from drinking when on roster or prior to turning out to an incident.

During the Monday meeting, the lasted draft of The Operational Training and Development Plan was presented. This was adopted by the meeting, and will now be integrated into Brigade training and operations. Integration will be undertaken over the coming months, with a review scheduled for the middle of 2023. Members are asked to review the attached plan, and consider the requirements for their current rank, as well as their future aspirations. In order to make it easy to meet these requirements, it is suggested that members record their activities attached Personal Activity Record Sheet and Driving Activity Record Sheet.

If you have any questions, please contact Ben, Elton, or Adrian.

At Monday's meeting a question was raised regarding the progress of the inquiry into the Wooroloo bushfire. Whilst the inquiry is still on-going, submissions to the inquiry have closed.
