2018 Training Calendar

A draft training calendar has been produced for the brigade, setting out training activities for the coming year. Training has been selected to align with the annual Skills Fresher, giving everyone an opportunity to demonstrated the required skill as part of the training.

The intention is for the rostered crew to attend the station on their rostered week, completed the vehicle checks and undertake training. This will give the rostered crew and opportunity to ensure the vehicles are prepared for the coming roster period, as well as undertake training as a team. All other members are of course also welcome to attend and participate.

Aligning the training sessions with the roster means that each training topic will be repeated across a four week period. Additionally, specialist topics will be covered on Thursday night training sessions.

The draft training calendar is attached.

The fund-raiser mentioned in last week's newsletter has been postponed. At this stage it is unclear if it will go ahead at some future date.

Formally known as the Annual Shire BBQ, this event celebrates the efforts of all the volunteer emergency services in the Shire of Mundaring. All members and their families are invited to attend, with all catering (including drinks) provided by the Shire. An annual tug-of-war is held, and whilst Sawyers has not been successful in recent years, this may be our year!

This year the event will be held on Saturday the 10th of March, from 17:00 at the Mundaring Recreation Ground.

Please RSVP to Vicki or Michelle to assist with catering numbers.
