Talbot Rd, Wootating - 20th March

Called to assist Northam Shire with a fire in Wootating. Large incident involving the majority of appliances within the Northam Shire as well as three brigades from Mundaring Shire, and Parks and Wildlife Service. Attended by Andy, Keith, and Warren.

The Northam CESM and CBFCO have extended their thanks and appreciation to the crews from the Shire of Mundaring who assisted at this fire.

Restricted Burning Commencing 1st of April

From the 1st of April the Shire will commence the Restricted Burning Period, where permits will be required for all burns before 18:00. Whilst this is the advertised start of the period, the Chief may place further restrictions on the issuing of permits based on prevailing weather.

Volunteer Familiarisation Visit

The DFES Metropolitan Operations Officer has extended an invitation to volunteer brigades to conduct familiarisation tours of the Communications, State, and Metropolitan Operations Centres. It is requested that brigades suggest potential dates between June and September; either Monday or Wednesday evenings, or Saturday mornings.

This will be discussed at the next general brigade meeting and some dates to propose decided upon.

The latest Mundaring Fire School calendar is attached.

There has been poor response in the upcoming WAERN course, which may be cancelled due to lack of attendees. If you are interested in attending this training, please contact Rob or Adrian.

The time of commenting on the Draft Rules of Association is drawing to a close. This is an important document, and the Constitution Committee values the input for all brigade members.

Please take the time to review the rules and offer any feed-back to the Committee. Comments can be submitted via the Secretary.
