New Members

Congratulations to our two newest members, Ben and Bruce. Both have been accepted as members at a brigade meeting, and have received their DFES ID numbers, enabling them to start the required training. Please make them both feel welcome into our brigade and support them as they start their bushfire fighting journeys.

Up-coming Burns

Burns are planned for Thursday 10th during the day, and either Saturday 12th or Sunday 13th. The weekend burn will depend upon the weather conditions, as the predicted warmer weather may preclude burning.

Please contact Adrian or John if you are interested and available.

MR Driver Training

The Mundaring Fire Fighter School is organising training to assist members in obtaining their Medium Rigid class drivers license. Places are limited to two members per brigade. Interested in members should contact Adrian or Rob.

The Brigade is able to conduct driver training in the 1.4 for all members who have a C or LR license. Training does not require a learner's permit, however drivers must be supervised by someone who has held a MR or higher license for more than four years. Again, coordination of this will be through Adrian and Rob.

No updates.

The latest Mundaring Fire School calendar is attached.

WAERN basic and Advanced (19 May 2018) has little interest and will be cancelled if the required numbers to run the course are not met. Please register via eAcademy.

There are only a few days left to register your interest in the Shawsett Operational Driver Training courses. Completion of this training is a prerequisite to being able to dive the appliances Emergency Road Conditions (ie lights and sirens). Please contact Adrian or Rob if you wish to participate.

The Annual Volunteer Bushfire Brigade Street Appeal is on Friday the 18th of May. This has been a fantastic fund-raising activity for the brigade, and a great way of meeting volunteers from other brigades across the Bush Fire Service. Please indicate your interest in attending by emailing Michelle, or fill out the sign-up sheet in the station. The appeal will run from 07:00 until 18:00, and is centred around the Hay Street and Murray Street Malls. Organisers have confirmed that interested members will be able to register on the day.

The more members we have attending the street appeal, the greater our share of the takings will be.
