Escaped Burn, 23rd Sept

Called to assist a resident with a burn which had escaped onto the neighbouring property. Attended by Keith and Nick T.

Pole Fire, 24th Sept

Turned out to report of power pole fire in Sawyers Valley. Monitored pole until Western Power isolated power to the area. Pole was extinguished, along with a neighbouring control burn. Assisted by Mt Helena BFB. Attended by Adrian, Ben M., Dave R., Elton, and Keith.

Skills Refresher

The deadline for completing the annual Skills Refresher is fast approaching, with all refreshers to be completed prior to the 1st of November. It is important that all operational members have completed the Skills Refresher in readiness for the coming fire season. Please see Adrian, Keith, John L., or Rob to organise completing your refresher. Special training sessions outside of the regular Saturday Mornings may be organised upon request.

Rural Fire Division Information Session - 1st October

Acting District Officer Folini has invited interested Brigade members to attend an information session discussing the Rural Fire Division. This session will be presented by the Honourable Fran Logan, the Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner Darren Klemm AFSM and the Executive Director of the Rural Fire Division (RFD) Mr Murray Carter. These presentations are designed to provide all Local Government and DFES Brigades, Groups and Units and with an understanding of the new RFD Structure and the Governments direction for the future in bushfire risk management.

RSVP to Adrian as soon as possible if you are interested. The information session will be held at 1900 in Swan Emergency Services Facility, 76 Bishop Road, Midland.

Graeme would like invite all Brigade members and their families to a bonfire at his place on the evening of Saturday the 29th. If you are interested in heading along, give Graeme a call.

The Brigade Annual Dinner Lunch will be held on October the 27th, at the Wild Goose in Gidgegannup. All Brigade members and their families are invited. Lunch, bear, wine, and soft drinks will be provided.
