Brigade Burn - Friday 2nd Nov

The burn previously planned for Thursday the 1st of Nov has been rescheduled to Friday night. This will aim to complete the burn started on Sunday in Martin Road. The plan is to start around 16:00 and run through until 19:00.

Shire Burn - Friday 2nd Nov

The Shire will be conducting a controlled burn at O'Connor Road in Glen Forrest this Friday, starting at 10:00. If you are interested in attending, please contact Adrian.

False Alarm - Thursday 25th

Turned out to investigate report of a fire on Mundaring Weir Road. Found a PaWS controlled burn. No action taken. Attended by Keith and Nick T.

Air Operations Briefing - 10th November

Darlington Brigade are hosting an Air Operations Pre-Season Briefing on the 10th of Novermber, starting at 08:30. This briefing is primarily for qualified Ground Controllers, however all interested Brigade members are welcome to attend.

It is highly recommended that all members who could potentially undertake the role of Ground Controller this fire season attend this briefing.

Chidlow Fire Seminar - 13th November

Chidlow Brigade are hosting a seminar on the 13th of November. Topics covered will include:

  • Bushfire Centre of Excellence
  • Bushfire Risk Management

Chief Superintendant John Tillman, and Director of the Rural Fire Division Murray Carter will be attending, and it is hoped that DFES Commissioner Darren Klemm will also attend.

The latest Mundaring Fire School calendar is attached.

It is with great pleasure that the Brigade welcomes its two newest members; Danika and Chad. Both Danika and Chad have been to the station several times since the Open Day, and are keen to start their fire-fighting journey.

A request which has been sitting on the Action Register for a while has been the creation of a portal for viewing Brigade correspondence. This has been now been created, in the form of a email mailing list. Any Brigade members who are interested in receiving verbatim copies of Brigade correspondence can subscribe by visiting the webpage or emailing sawyersvalley-correspondence-subscribe@lists.bfb.asn.au.
