Incidents
Darlington, 1st January
Assisted with mop-up at the Darlington Fire on the 1st of January. This provided an excellent opportunity to get our probationary members onto a fire ground and gain some valuable experience. Mundaring VFRS also accepted an offer to send two of their probationary fire fighters along with our crews. It is anticipated that similar arrangements will occur in the future as opportunities arise.
Attended by Adrian, Bruce, Chad, Danika, and Elton, with Corey and Niamh from Mundaring VFRS.
Announcements
Bushfire Medal
DFES have recently announced the issuing of Bush Fire Brigade Medal, as part of it's awards program. This medal will be issued to all active Bush Fire Service personnel who have served for 10 years or more. Additionally, each additional five years of service will see the awarding of a clasp. Several of our members will already be eligible for this award, and will receive them shortly.
Attached is the DFES Honours and Awards Handbook, which details all of the awards issued by DFES, as well as guidance on how to properly wear these awards.

Special General Meeting, 29th January
Sawyers Valley Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Incorporated is convening a Special General Meeting at which the following resolution(s) will be proposed as a special resolution to alter the Rules (Constitution) of the Association/Brigade.
Special Resolution(s): It is proposed to adopt the Model Rules (as set out in Schedule 2 of the Associations Incorporation Regulations 2016) and the Association’s documents SVVBFB Rules of Association and SVVBFB By-Laws including the Code of Conduct, in place of all of the existing Constitution (Rules) of the Sawyers Valley Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Incorporated.
This meeting will be held on January the 29th, at the Ashstead Street Fire Station, from 19:00. All members are encouraged to attend and participate this meeting.
