Grass Fire, Chidlow - 23rd January

Assisted at 2nd Alarm grass fire on Old Northam Rd in Chidlow. Whilst conditions were challenging due to the wind, rain eventually completed the mop-up.

Attended by Dave S., Keith, Michelle, Nick T., and Warren.

Thank you also to those who made themselves available for a potential relief crew.

Volunteer Management Support Officer

DFES have announced the appointment of a new Volunteer Management Support Officers for the Metropolitan Region. The VMSO role is to provide management, administrative and logistics support to BGU Leaders to assist them in maintaining administrative and operational readiness, and, to comply Governance and Statutory requirements.

The Metropolitan Regional VMSOs will initially liaise with District Officers to establish a foundation for strong and effective relationships with all key stakeholders, to become a liaison point for BGU’s and those who work with them in the Region.

Chief Deployed to Tasmania

The Chief Bush Fire Control Officer of the Shire of Mundaring is being deployed to assist with the bush fires in Tasmania, returning on the 30th of January. During this time the Swan and Chittering CESMs will cover operational requirements within the Shire of Mundaring.

We wish Jamie the best of luck for his trip.

The latest Mundaring Fire School calendar is attached.

Matthew Hughes has invited brigades who attended the recent fire at Darlington to a thank you event, to be held at Darlington Fire Station on Wednesday the 30th of January. The event will from between 10:30 and 11:30am.

RSVP to Adrian by CoB on Friday the 25th of January if you wish to attend.

Sawyers Valley Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Incorporated is convening a Special General Meeting at which the following resolution(s) will be proposed as a special resolution to alter the Rules (Constitution) of the Association/Brigade.

Special Resolution(s): It is proposed to adopt the Model Rules (as set out in Schedule 2 of the Associations Incorporation Regulations 2016) and the Association’s documents SVVBFB Rules of Association and SVVBFB By-Laws including the Code of Conduct, in place of all of the existing Constitution (Rules) of the Sawyers Valley Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Incorporated.

This meeting will be held on January the 29th, at the Ashstead Street Fire Station, from 19:00. All members are encouraged to attend and participate this meeting.
