Uniform Changes
The Shire of Mundaring is proposing a number of changes to the turn-out uniform and PPE issued to Brigades. It has been proposed that a second set of PPE be made available for Brigade members who attend a large number of incidents. The idea behind this is to allow regular washing of PPE, with the second set being available should a call-out occur while the main set is out of commission. Within Sawyers Valley the suggestion is that PPE will be replaced earlier than at the end of its serviceable life, thereby providing a second set for members who require it.
The second proposed change concerns the option for dark-blue cargo pants in lieu of the lime-green over-pants that are currently issued. This particular issue has been under discussion amongst the Brigades and the Shire for a number of years, with various justifications for and against raised. As such, the Shire has decided to make the choice between the existing lime-green over-pants, and the blue cargo pants a Brigade level decision. I am interested in hearing suggestions, feed-back, and interest in which PPE the Brigade should select. A trial of the cargo-pants may be possible, and will be pursued with the Shire.

Mundaring Fire School
No updates.
Up-coming Crew Leaders and Lieutenants are reminded that the Initial Control at Wildfires (ICAW) training course will be occurring on the 23rd of November. This is a highly valuable course, and required training for these roles.
Administration
Brigade Annual <del>Dinner</del> Lunch Date
A quick survey has been created to gauge which dates are going to suit most people for the increasingly inaccurate Annual Dinner.
The two proposed dates are the 12th and 19th of October. Please take the time to respond so that we can accommodate most people.
Seeking Knapsacks and Rake-hoes
Keith is seeking to borrow vintage knapsacks and rack-hoes for the Austin. The Austin will once again be displayed at the WAFES Conference between the 6th and 8th of September.
If you have any suitable equipment to donate or loan, please contact Keith.
