Repeater Maintenance: 24th - 26th June

DFES Radio Communications Services have issue a notice of maintenance work on the channel 238 and channel 144 repeaters. Repeater channel 346, or simplex channels 354 - 369 should be used for incident control during this time.

Training Places Available

The Training Support Officer for South Metropolitan Operations has highlighted a number of training courses with vacancies;

  • Bush Fire Fighter (old course) - 4th and 5th July, Gosnells EOC
  • Provide First Aid - 11th July, Royal Life Saving, Mt Claremont
  • Internal Structural Firefighting Theory - 11th July, WAFES Academy
  • Pump Operations - 11th and 12th July, West Gidgegannup BFB
  • Mental Health First Aid Refresher - 12th July, Cockburn ESCC
  • Bush Firefighting Skills - 14th and 15th July (Mid-week), Kalamunda VFRS

Nominations for the 2020 AGM close this Monday the 29th (28 days prior to the AGM). The AGM itself will be held on Monday the 27th of July, at the station[1].

The following positions are open for nominations:

  • Chairperson;
  • Secretary;
  • Treasurer;
  • Committee of Management Members (x4)[2];
  • Captain;
  • First Lieutenant;
  • Training Manager;
  • Equipment Manager.

Please give your careful consideration to nominating for these important positions. A nomination form is attached.

In addition to the election office bearers, the annual award recipients will be announced. Awards for consideration are:

  • Keith Woodley Trophy for Outstanding Service;
  • Les Ryan Trophy for Best New Member[3];
  • Equipment Manager's Award[4]

The nomination form for the Keith Woodley Trophy for Outstanding Service is attached. Completed nominations can be placed in the ballot box, located in the station next to the attendance register.

[4]awarded by the Equipment Manager.

  • Saturday 27th - Sched, training, and BBQ Breakfast. To be attended by members of Team 2 (Crews C & D). Training will cover the Skills Refresher.
  • Monday 29th - AGM Nominations close.
  • Monday 29th - General Brigade Meeting: 19:30 at the Station.
