Changes to Brigade Call-Out Procedure
At this week's Operational Command meeting, a change to the way Shire of Mundaring Brigades will be turned-out by Com-Cen. The change retires the previous Minimum Bush Fire Incident Response Protocol which had determined the number and make-up of turned-out appliances based on the Fire Danger Rating.
In its place Brigades are now responsible for appropriately requesting additional resources and escalating as required. Over the high fire season it is anticipated that a dual brigade response will be in place. The Zone 2 Response for the western half of the Shire remains unchanged.
As a result of this change, timely and accurate reports from the first arriving appliance is essential. Crews should also attempt to contact either the Captain or First Lieutenant with a sit-rep as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Adrian.

Administration
Special Resolution, 28th September
At this month's General Meeting, a Special Resolution will be moved to change the Brigade By-Laws. The change will affect how financial motions are handled within the Brigade; motions for expending any amount greater than $1000 shall be circulated to all members for consideration at least 14 days prior to the meeting.
Details of the proposed changes to the By-Laws are attached.
Bushfire Ready Committee Delegates
A proposal was raised at the recent Operational Command meeting to form an inter-brigade Bushfire Ready Co-ordination Committee. This committee shall drive the promotion of bushfire safety within the Shire of Mundaring community and develop resources to assist Brigades in these activities. The initial focus of the committee shall be the development of an events trailer which shall be made available to Brigades for use at community engagement events.
Graeme has kindly sourced a trailer for this purpose, and a previous fund-raising effort by another Brigade has made available approximately $20,000 for this purpose.
Anyone interested in being our Brigade's delegate to this committee should contact Adrian. Delegates shall be decided by the Committee of Management.
