Christmas and New Year Roster

To ensure the Brigade maintains its operational capability throughout the holiday period, without overly burdening individual members, roster shall be drawn up for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. If you will be unavailable for any of these days, please let Adrian or Elton know so this can be factored into the roster. Where possible individual members shall be on roster for only one of these four days.

It is also a good time to remind members that alcohol should be avoided when on roster. Whilst volunteers are allowed up to 0.05% BAL, it is requested that members abstain from drinking when on roster or prior to turning out to an incident.

Post-Christmas Party – Monday, 28th December

Many thanks to all members who have responded so far. As you will see from the invitation, it’s not too late to RSVP to Vicki. Even if you are unable to attend can you please let her know.

If anyone can assist with setting up, cooking the BBQ and generally lending a hand on the day, can you please get in touch with Vicki.

This year’s Run is done and dusted and was a great success. No leftover lolly bags, in fact had to make up more bags for Day 2. Not sure whether this was due to holding the Run mid-week over 2 afternoons, Facebook posts or just pure luck. Everything ran very smoothly and judging by the many happy children, parents and cars honking Santa that we encountered along the way, a good time (in some cases, a wet time) was had by all.

As with all events, lots of people willing gave their time (some possibly coerced) –

  • Dave We. and Rob for reprising their roles of Santa and his trusty side-kick the Naughty Elf;
  • Austin drivers Dave S. and Keith; 1-4 driver Warren; LT drivers Sarah and Shaun;
  • Navigators/support drivers Adrian, Sarah, John L and Vicki;
  • Map/route Warren and Vicki;
  • Facebook advertising/updates Michelle and Sarah;
  • Facebook “Santa Stalking” over the 2 afternoons Michelle;
  • Truck decorations John R., John L. and Vicki.

Your efforts not only made a lot of people smile but has certainly raised the profile of our Brigade – thank you.
