Given the recent hectic pace of Brigade and fire related activities over the past month, the Brigade has elected to take the Easter Long Weekend off. No training or other activities will be undertaken on Saturday morning, and members are encouraged to enjoy the long weekend with their families.

From Thursday the 1st of April the Shire enters into the Restricted Burning Period. During this time residents will be able to apply for permits to burn, as well burn a 1sqm pile between 18:00 and 00:00.

The Chief has directed FCOs to not issue permits until there has been significant rain in the area.

At this week's general meeting there was extensive discussion on the need for enhanced mapping and access to AVL from the fire ground. In order to explore options for for devices to solve this issue a subcommittee is being formed. Anyone interested in being involved with this subcommittee should contact Warren or Adrian.
