False Alarm, 2nd October

Received a direct call from a member of the public reporting a fire in a pile of curb-side hard rubbish. Both appliances were engaged at the RUI exercise near Gidgegannup, but were released to attend the incident. No fire was found, and the caller eventually called back to report that what she had actually seen was a red foil balloon.

Attended by Ben M., Dave R., Elton, Michelle, and Murray.

A number of places are still available for the new Fire Weather 1 training course, being held at the Bushfire Centre of Excellence. The course is targeted at senior fire fighters and has prerequisites of DFES0420 Advanced Bush Firefightering, or PUAFIR303 Suppress Wildfire. Anyone interested should apply though eAcademy before Friday the 8th of October.

Any questions, contact Ben or Adrian.
