Chidlow / Wooroloo, 26th December

Turned out a rapidly escalating paddock / scrub fire near Government Road in Wooroloo. With one house lost early in the fire, it continued to burn towards the estate around Warrigal Way. Both appliances set up a asset defence, assisted by a 50KL water tank, and successfully saved the property.

Subsequent shifts worked hard on mopping up and patrolling the fire, with six subsequent shifts attending.

Attended by: Adam, Adrian, Ben M., Colin, Dave R., Dave Wh., Dave We., Denise, Elton, Graeme, John L., John R., Keith, Michelle, Murray, Rob, Sarah, Shane, Tracey-Lee, and Warren.

Pre-Turnout Staging, 29th December

Requested to standby ahead of a possible call-out to a shed fire in Wooroloo. Whilst both appliances did proceed to the fire, both were stood down before arriving.

Attended by: Dave R., Dave S., Denise, Elton, John R., Keith (station crew), Sarah, and Shane.

With the Christmas Party running afoul of COVID-19 restrictions and the Wooroloo/Chidlow fire this year, it has been postponed until early next year. The party will also include an afternoon cricket match (Aussies vs Poms of course!), and the Brigade photo.

Details for the cricket match are still being determined.
