Fire Weather 1 Training, 10th & 11th June
The Bushfire Centre of Excellence will be presenting the Fire Weather 1 training course on the 10th and 11th of June. Currently there has been a lower than expected number of sign-ups for this course, so a special appeal is being made for members interested in attending.
If you are interested in attending please contact Ben or Adrian.
National Volunteer Week Media Coverage (15-21 May)
Michael from the DFES Media Team is chasing volunteers who have some interesting stories to tell, or have had any special milestones to celebrate over the past year and would be happy to be interviewed by the media.
The format will be a relaxed chat about why they volunteer, why others should consider joining, and discuss any interesting deployments/incidents from the past year. Michael can provide general talking points on the benefits of volunteering if they need them, but most people are usually happy to chat about their own experiences.
Anyone involved in the Donnybrook Bushfire, Cervantes Bushfire or Kimberley Floods response, would be great. Otherwise, stories of vollies who are part of the same family that all volunteer together also works well.
Anyone interested should contact Michael (0436 472 577) before the end of the week.
