Shire Hazard Reduction Burn, 19th May
The Shire are planning a hazard reduction burn for Friday the 19th of May in Mt Helena, starting around 08:00. This will of course be subject to the Fire Danger Rating for the day, and confirmation will be given late Thursday afternoon.
Anyone interested in assisting with this burn should contact Adrian.

Administration
Annual General Meeting
The Brigade Annual General Meeting will be held at the Station, 12 Ashstead Street in Sawyers Valley on Monday, 29th May 2023 commencing at 1930 hours. There will be a very short General Meeting preceding the AGM which will commence at 1900 hours. At the conclusion of the AGM, a light supper and refreshments will be provided. Should members be unable to attend, there will be the option to participate via Zoom, or alternatively appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf.
All relevant documents including proxy forms, agendas and minutes will be emailed out closer to the meeting date.
Nominations for Office Bearers
Nominations for all positions have now closed. As there was one nomination received for each position and providing no one withdraws their nomination, there will be no requirement to hold a ballot and the Chairperson/Returning Officer will declare the member elected to that position.
Outstanding Services Award
Nominations for the Outstanding Services Award close on Saturday, 27th May. If you would like to nominate a member who you feel has given outstanding service to the Brigade, please nominate using the attached form and place your nomination in the ballot box at the Station. Additional forms are available alongside the ballot box.
Family Fun Afternoon – Sunday 21/5/2023
As part of National Volunteers Week, a Family Fun Afternoon for volunteer fire brigade members and their families has been organised for Sunday, 21st May from 1330 – 1700 hours and will be held at Percy Cullen Oval, Toodyay Road in Gidgegannup. (refer attached invitation)
The organisers are planning to have a BBQ with sausages and patties, as well as a range of non-meat options, garden salad and rolls, desserts and drinks will also be available.
There will be a range of activities, including Horse Shoe Throwing, Giant Jenga, Giant Chess, Corn Toss, Tug-o-war, Treasure Hunt, Dance Party, Chalk Drawing Competition and a Kid’s Painting Party.
