The Shire will be re-attempting a hazard reduction burn on Monday the 29th, running for the full day. Anyone interested should contact Adrian.

The Unrestricted Burning Period will commence on Thursday the 1st of June. Given the limited amount of rainfall so far this season, it is possible that this will result in a couple of call-outs to escaped or illegal burns.

Burning is still prohibited on days of High Fire Danger Rating, even during the Unrestricted period.

Triggering the Emergency Alert on the AVL system, through either a manual activation (holding the AVL button for 4 seconds) or through a crash / rollover will raise an alarm at ComCen. ComCen will attempt to establish the validity of the alert and determine any response required.

If the alert is accidentally triggered the Crew Leader should contact ComCen to confirm that no emergency response is required. Contact can be made to 6IP via radio, or by phoning 1800 198 140.
