House Fire, Sawyers Valley Road, 27th June

Turned out to report of structure fire on Sawyers Rd. Mundaring VFRS and Midland FRS were already attending a traffic accident in the area, and were able to contain the fire quickly, before it spread through the roof of the property.

Attended by: Adrian, Denise, Keith, Matt, and Shane.

The Brigade is required nominate members to be appointed as Permit Issuing Fire Control Officers. These officers have the responsibility of issuing permits to burn during the Restricted Burning Period within the Shire of Mundaring. Expressions of Interest are sought for suitably experienced and qualified members to nominate for this important position.

Mundaring Fire School

The Shire of Mundaring has released the latest draft (version 20230620) of the Bushfire Operating Procedures for review and comment. The procedures aim to provide guidance and instruction for Shire bushfire brigades, and bushfire activities.

The BOPs cover large parts of brigade activities and operations, and can provide a significant influence in how a brigade operates. It is therefore recommended that all members familiarise themselves with this document and provide any relevant feedback.

Feedback will be collected over the coming weeks, with a collated submission presented to the Shire of Mundaring.
