Keith would like to remind members to check the batteries in their helmet torches, and replace these as necessary. The AA batteries tend to leak over a period of time, which can render the torch inoperable.

Additionally it has been noted that a large number of our helmets will be expiring in coming months. Please inspect your helmet and report to Keith if the expiration date is approaching.

During Monday night's meeting there was discussion on the formation of street local Bushfire Ready Action Groups. These groups aim to bring together neighbours in supporting each other to prepare for bushfires.

Starting a BRAG can be as simple as making a contact list for your neighbours and establishing which neighbours plans to stay or go. All brigade members are strongly encouraged to start a group with their neighbours.

Attached is a DFES brochure introducing Bushfire Ready. If you have any questions please contact Adrian.

Congratulations to Ben, Rob, and Sarah who have all recently passed their MR driving test. Qualified drivers is often a limiting factor in being able to crew our appliances, and it is great to see our Brigade members giving up their time to help in this regard.

Sarah also recently completed the Operational Driving training, qualifying her for Emergency Road driving.
