Pole Fire, Great Eastern Highway, 20th Nov

Called to report of pole fire near Malabar Rd in Sawyers Valley. Found a small fire at the base of a 22,000V pole in light scrub. Fire was quickly contained and area made safe with the assistance of Western Power.

Shire Incidents: 11

Starting in the early afternoon on Wednesday, the Mariginup fire has burnt through a significant area of north of Mariginup Lake to threaten properties in Tapping and surrounding suburbs. At Wednesday evening the fire had over 150 appliances in attendance, including BFS, C/V FRS, P&WS, and multiple aerial assets including the LAT. It is expected that this fire will require a significant ongoing presence throughout the remainder of the week and over the weekend. As of Wednesday night the fire was neither contained nor controlled.

Just reminder that the next Brigade general meeting, will be held at the Station on Monday 27/11/2023 commencing at 19:30 hours. To assist with finalising the November agenda, can you please email all reports and agenda items to me by Friday 24/11/2023. Zoom details will be emailed to members closer to the meeting date.

Attached is an invitation for members and their families to attend this year’s Christmas Party, which will be held at the Station on Friday, 29th December commencing at 17:30 hours. Members are asked to RSVP Vicki by Friday 15th December, indicating numbers attending and whether providing a salad or dessert.

The dates for the 2023 lolly run will be the mornings of Sunday 17th and Monday 18th December with an approx. duration of 4 hours each day. Dave R has volunteered his services for the 1-4 on Sunday, with Denise, John R and Shane available for the LT. If anyone else can assist with driving and support, please contact Vicki on 0407 831 315.
