Metropolitan Volunteer Response
The follow message of thanks has been received from Peter Sutton AFSM, Chief Superintendent of Metropolitan Operations.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your crews for your commitment to three significant events over the last two weeks - The Red Hill Bushfire, the Bedfordale Bushfire and the Nanga Brook Bushfire occurring now. I send this message with my appreciation for the efforts and commitment to these incidents and the role that all volunteers have contributed to the responses mentioned. I am told that 22 appliances have committed back to back resourcing through to the end of Friday. Whilst Metropolitan Operations are supporting the South West Region in response to this incident, the commitment is outstanding and very much appreciated. Please keep up the amazing work and accept my thanks and also the thanks of Assistant Commissioner Metropolitan Operations Jon Broomhall AFSM who is currently over east undertaking work commitments.
Please stay safe, and if you can, take the opportunity to enjoy some time over the Easter Holiday to have a well earned break if possible. The season is not over yet with no rain forecast for the April month.
A final thank you to your families who I know sacrifice valuable time with you whilst you do this very important work in protecting the community.
Regards
Peter Sutton AFSM Chief Superintendent Metropolitan Operations
