DFES are seeking suitably qualified and experienced bushfire volunteers to assist with a program of hazard reduction burns along the Eyre Highway of the coming month. Crews will be flown via chartered aircraft to site, and will camp in a remote location for the week while conducting the burns.

If you are interested in participating in this unique opportunity, please contact Adrian ASAP. The next rotation will be from the 12th to the 18th of October. You might even get to use the flame thrower!

RMIT is seeking volunteers to participate in a study of bushfire mapping. The study is looking to engage with people from all backgrounds (age, ethnicity, how long you've been in Australia, where you live, etc.), and aims to improve how bushfire emergency information is communicated to the public.

This opportunity to participate in this study is open to all members of the public, and you are encourage to share this information with friends and family.

The event will be held at the Mundaring Fire School, Bentley Street in Stoneville, between 10:30am and 1:000pm Saturday the 16th of November.
