Friday is forecast to see out first Extreme fire danger rating for the season. This is forecast to continue through until Sunday morning, with a possible thunderstorm predicted for the Perth Hills. Such thunderstorms at this time of year bring the possibility of “dry lightning”.

There will be the possibility of Total Fire Bans during this days, however there are currently no plans to further restrict fire permits (as the weather conditions for both wind speed and temperature will preclude burning).

The Chief has requested that crews remain aware of the weather conditions over the next few days. Please ensure that your availability is up to date in BART, and if you have significant changes to your availability please let Adrian or Dave Wh. know.

When completing a T-card it is best practise to record each crew member's name, DFES ID, and any dietary requirements each individual may have. To help facilitate this a list of operational members, including their ID and dietary requirements, will be kept in each appliance (attached to the back of the vehicle log book).

To help collect the dietary requirements all members are asked to complete a short survey.

It should be noted that the crew member list will not record medical concerns, other than food allergies. If you have any medical concerns which you feel may be important please discuss these with Adrian or Dave Wh., and consider adopting additional means of identifying such concerns; i.e. wearing a Medic-Alert bracelet or similar.
