Chimney Fire, Eason Rd, 28th

Attended by: Denise, and Shane.

With the recent rain this week, the Chief has announced that the Unrestricted Burning Period is able to start as scheduled, on the 1st of June. During this period residents will not require a permit to conduct hazard reduction burns.

The Chief is at pains to point out that the bush is still heavily drought affected despite this week's rain, and burning should be undertaken “responsibly” to avoid “potential permanent environmental damage or disruption to our community”.

Members are encouraged to consider attending this year's WA Fire and Emergency Services Conference, being held on Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of September. This year all volunteers are able to nominate themselves to attend by visiting the Conference website.

Nominations will close on the 5th of June.
