Called with Mundaring VFRS to assist resident with an escaped burn on Forrest Avenue in Mundaring, outside of the Gazetted Fire District. The fire was quickly controlled, and handed back to the resident.

Attended by: Denise, John R., Keith. Matt, and Shane.

The Restricted Burning Period for the Shire of Mundaring has commenced on Tuesday the 1st of October. During this time residents will be required to obtain a permit to burn, other than for 1sqm piles after 18:00. No burning will be allowed on days of High fire danger or above.

At this early stage no extra restrictions are required for permits, and running fire (with suitable controls) will be allowed. The Restricted Burning Period will continue until the end of November.

Permits may be obtained online at via the Shire of Mundaring Website.

As we enter the high threat period in the coming months, the weekly vehicle checks will revert to Saturday mornings. This is to provide greater opportunity for all operational members to participate in the checks as part of the wider group, and ensure that all members are familiar with the layout and operation of the appliances.

Checks will commence at 09:30, with any planned training sessions to follow after.
