Called to report of smoke near Coolgardie St in Mundaring. Nothing found, and returned to station.

Truck Fire, Linley Valley Rd, Wooroloo

Turned out to report of a truck fire along Linley Valley Rd in Wooroloo. Stood down before arriving.

Nominations for the 2025 WA Fire and Emergency Services (WAFES) Awards are closing soon.

There's still time to recognise an outstanding young person, individual or team before submissions close at 9am on Monday 17 March.

Categories include:

  • Firefighting Young Person of the Year Award
  • DFES Operational Staff Individual Achievement Award
  • Murray Lang Bush Fire Service Award
  • Firefighting Team Achievment Award
  • DFES Staff Team Achievement Award

If you’re not sure where to start, check out the nomination guide for useful tips and examples of notable nominations from previous years.

It would be great to see someone from within the Shire of Mundaring nominated for one or more of these awards this year, so please give some consideration to anyone you from across the Shire who you think is worthy.

Nominations close on Monday the 17th of March, with the awards present at the WAFES Conference Gala Dinner.
