Bushfire Ready Facilitator Training

DFES have announced the availability of training for Bushfire Ready Facilitators, scheduled for the 9th of June.

The course is open to any DFES or Local Government firefighter with a minimum 6 months’ career or volunteer firefighting experience. Priority will be given to new/untrained facilitators, particularly those who are already undertaking community engagement activities, however existing facilitators are also encouraged to attend to refresh their skills and understanding of current Bushfire Ready Program messaging.

Bushfire Ready is a community led program that aims to build community resilience to bushfire. Through the efforts of Bushfire Ready Facilitators, the program encourages and supports local residents to work together to learn about, plan for and prepare their properties for bushfires. These facilitators are specially trained DFES and local government volunteers who work in partnership with community members to increase bushfire understanding and preparedness in their local area.

If you are interested in undertaking the training and becoming a Bushfire Ready Facilitator, please contact Adrian or Rob.
