Locker PPE

A quick reminder to all operational members to ensure that they have a complete set of PPE stored in their locker. This should include all under-clothes; cotton shorts, t-shirt, socks, and underwear suitable for a fire ground. Ideally this should be kept in a separate bag, making it easy for other members to grab your equipment should you need to be met for an incident away from the station - for example joining a Strike Team.

An alternative is to ensure that you carry suitable clothing in the vehicle.

If you are collecting PPE for another member please ensure that a full set is retrieved, and replace any missing items. PPE must include:

  • Helmet
  • Goggles (attached to helmet)
  • Half/full face mask
  • Gloves
  • Turn-out Jacket
  • Turn-out Pants
  • Boots
  • Cotton underclothes (shorts, t-shirt, underwear, socks)

Off the back of the successful Santa Run, and the high level of media attention regarding bush fires now is an ideal time for a recruiting drive. Over the next couple of weeks we will be aiming to complete a letter drop across Sawyers Valley, urging local residence to consider joining our Brigade.

If you are available to assist, please contact Dave Wh. or Adrian, and if you know someone who may be interested please encourage them to come along to the station on a Saturday morning.

The City of Wanneroo is holding an even to thank the emergency services personnel who assisted with the Yanchep bush fires. The event will include live music, food trucks, and a “kid's zone”. Wearing a Brigade shirt will allow your children free access to the kid's zone, with 10 inflatable rides, alpacas, workshops, and arts'n'crafts.

The even will be held on Sunday the 2nd of February, at Splendid Park, Yanchep.

  • Saturday 18th: Training - Radio Operations (by Ben M.) - highly recommended!
