Called to report of a power pole fire on Sawyers Rd. Found a small grass fire, which had been extinguished by a local resident. The fire was caused by a possum shorting high voltage power lines, throwing sparks into the dry grass.

Attended by Adrian, Dave Wh, Keith, and Michelle.

The Chief Fire Control Officer for the Shire of Mundaring has requested that Brigades review several SOPs ahead of the fire season.

Brigade Operations members, in particular Crew Leaders and Lieutenants, should re-familiarise themselves with the following SOPs:

• 3.05.1 - Bushfire Response
• 3.05.3 - Ground Control of Aerial Suppression Platforms
• 3.05.06 - Structural Triage
• 3.05.07 - Employment of Task Forces / Strike Teams at RUI
• 3.05.08 - Immediate Street Assessments at the RUI
• 3.05.09 - Firefighting within Rural Urban Interface Environments
• 3.05.10 - Crew Safety at Bushfires
• 3.05.11 - Entrapment at Bushfire
• 3.05.12 - Tree Removal at Bushfires
• 3.05.13 - Operating Within Registered Unexploded Ordnance Sites
