At the time of writing, only four members have marked themselves as available in BART, with a fifth having marked themselves unavailable. We are at the time of year when quickly appraising the availability of our fire fighters is critical to being able to appropriately respond to incidents. Please take some time to fill out your availability in BART - either in the app, or on the website. If you have difficulty accessing either of these, or are unsure on how to set your availability, please speak to Adrian, Elton, or Warren.

Also, please ensure that you respond to any incidents with your intention to attend; Green / Thumbs Up for attending, Red / Thumbs Down for no available, Yellow / Circle for second shift availability.

During last month's brigade meeting, a request was made for members to assist crews in turning-out during incidents. Assistance can be provided in ensuring the station log records all attending members, drinks bags are retrieved from the fridge, answering the station phone, and generally assisting the crew to turn-out in the shortest possible time. Additionally, once the crew have departed all private vehicles should be checked to ensure they are locked, and the station securely closed up again. Not having to focus on ensuring the roller-doors are closed, or whether their car is locked will allows crews to focus on responding to the incident.

The Operations Committee is interested in ideas for how this effort could be coordinated, especially involving the Station Crew. If you have any suggestions, please contact Adrian.
