At the recent Pre-Season Forum a session was presented on the COVID-19 vaccine, and the requirements for volunteers. Whilst the original presentation stated that the vaccine would not be compulsory, this has recently changed due to an updated direction from the Chief Health Officer. The direction requires all emergency workers (including volunteers) to have received the COVID-19 vaccine in order to enter a fire and emergency services site (including bushfire brigade stations), enter a DFES premise (including vehicles), or attend a fire or emergency services incident area. To comply with this direction volunteer emergency workers must have received their initial vaccination prior to the 1st of January 2022, and by fully vaccinated by the 1st of February 2022. | At the recent Pre-Season Forum a session was presented on the COVID-19 vaccine, and the requirements for volunteers.
