Drive Vehicle Under Operational Conditions Training

Metro CBFCO have met with SETS Training to discuss the possibility of running PUAVEH001B Drive Vehicle Under Operational Conditions courses. This course is a requirement for volunteers to drive appliances operationally, in particular under emergency road conditions. While details are still being finalised, the proposal so far is:

  • Regional 1 day courses through SETS – Multiple dates over the winter period.
  • Volunteers will be required to apply via eAcademy (to be confirmed).
  • 4WD (off road) course (Limited courses).

There will be multiple, 1 day course dates over a 4 - 5 month period, which will may be enrolled through eAcademy (to be confirmed).

We will keep brigade members up to date with this proposal as more information comes to hand.

No updates.

The latest Mundaring Fire School calendar is attached.

Spaces are available for First Aid training at the WAFES Academy for the 25th of May. Applications can be made through eAcademy, or by contacting Rob.

The Annual Volunteer Bushfire Brigade Street Appeal is on Friday the 17th of May. This has been a fantastic fund-raising activity for the brigade, and a great way of meeting volunteers from other brigades across the Bush Fire Service. Organisers will be signing up attendees on the day, however an indication of numbers will assist with logistics and planning.

The appeal will run from 07:00 until 18:00, and is centred around the Hay Street and Murray Street Malls.

The more members we have attending the street appeal, the greater our share of the takings will be. Interested members should RSVP to Michelle.

Mt Helena Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade have again extended an invitation for other brigades to compete against them in the (now annual!) Hills Billy Cart Festival. Last year Mt Helena and Darlington Brigades entered carts, and it is hoped that more brigades participate this year. There is hope that this may develop into an annually awarded trophy, similar to the Tug-o-War.

Brigades have also been invited to participate in the event's emergency management team.

Anyone interested in participating in either aspect of the festival should contact Adrian.
