SOCMET is forecasting the potential for lightning from Saturday afternoon, continuing into next week, with the main impact to the metro area predicted to be on Wednesday. As has been seen over the past week, lightning can present significant challenges, especially if it is not accompanied with significant rainfall.

In response to this, both North Coastal and Northeast regions will each be running a task force from Saturday 11th of November through to until Saturday 18th of November. Units associated with the tasks forces may be mobilised individually to support local resources, or as part of the overall task force.

Please ensure that your availability in BART is up to date, and notify Adrian or Dave Wh. of any changes to your normal availability.

More information on the forecast weather will be provided as it comes to hand.

As many of you will have seen, a new online Work Health and Safety Induction has been add to your list of training courses in eAcademy. Whilst this induction is not mandatory, completing the course is encouraged for all fire fighters, including volunteers. All new DFES staff, volunteers, and contractors will be required to complete the course after joining the organisation.

You can find the course in your current enrolments in eAcademy.
